Prerequisites: The prerequisites listed are recommended and should be completed prior to attending class. The prerequisite courses include:

  • SnapView Foundations - Self Study (MR-9WP-SNPVFD)
  • CLARiiON Host Integration and Management (MR-1CP-CLRNSP)

Prior to taking this course, participants should have strong understanding of IT concepts and a basic knowledge of storage concepts.
Course Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Explain how SnapView makes copies of LUNs
  • Explain the operation of the SnapView cache
  • Calculate the required size of the SnapView cache
  • Configure SnapView cache
  • Configure Snapshots
  • Start SnapView Sessions, and activate Snapshots
  • Stop SnapView Sessions, and remove Snapshots
  • Explain how SnapView makes clones (BCVs) of LUNs
  • Explain the operation of the Clone Private LUN
  • Discuss where Clones might be used in an environment
  • Compare and contrast Clones and Snapshots
