Prerequisites: The prerequisites listed are recommended and should be completed prior to attending class. The prerequisite courses include:

Prior to taking this course, participants should have strong understanding of IT concepts and a basic knowledge of storage concepts.
Course Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Configure the CLARiiON storage system cache features with Manager and CLI
  • Configure storage objects on the CLARiiON storage system with Manager and CLI
  • Obtain storage system status information with Manager and CLI
  • Configure LUNs for use on Windows 2000 and Solaris hosts
  • Configure the CLARiiON storage system to allow access to LUNs by a Windows 2000 and Solaris hosts
  • Determine how Windows 2000 and Solaris hosts address CLARiiON LUNs
  • Configure Access Logix in the environment
  • Choose correct Access Logix operating parameters
  • Configure PowerPath to ensure continued application availability
  • Demonstrate how PowerPath fails over and fails back after failures are corrected
  • Describe PowerPath load balancing options
  • Configure Navisphere 6.x for optimal performance
  • Determine whether or not one or more portal systems are required
  • Implement Navisphere 6.x security
  • Describe the management information flow to and from CLARiiON storage systems
  • Determine whether or not improvements in performance are possible in the environment
  • Decide which aspects of performance are limited by the host and host software
  • Gather and analyze CLARiiON performance data
  • Tune the CLARiiON storage system for improved performance
